Rich Square Baptist Church is a Christ-centered church committed to faithfully preaching God's Word, loving people well, and reaching our community with the Gospel.
We believe the church should be a family of covenanted believers. A place where people can grow in faith, serve together, and walk through life side-by-side.

MEET OUR PASTOR
Pastor John Thompson
Pastor John has been at Rich Square Baptist Church since October of 2021. He originates from Chesterfield, Virginia, but loves the beautiful rural setting of eastern North Carolina. He and his beautiful wife have four wonderful children. Pastor John enjoys reading, spending time with his family, and firing up the grill! He has also served as chaplain to all of emergency services in Northampton County since November 2024.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
THE BIBLE
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and ennarent Word of God. We believe that it is sufficient, authoritative and that it should guide everything we do as individuals and as a church.
SALVATION
We believe that salvation is a gift of God. The only way to be saved is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We all deserve eternal condemnation for our sins but Jesus made away for us to be made right with God again.
JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus is the eternal Son of God. Fully God and fully man. He humbled himself and took on human flesh to go to the cross in our place for the forgiveness of sins. He died, was buried, and rose again.
THE CHURCH
We believe the church is God's plan for the growth of his people. We are covenanted together to help each other grow in Christ and to take the gospel to our communities and the nations.
PRAYER
We believe that prayer is the way God has given us to cumminicate with him. He hears our prayers and responds according to his will. We pray asking God to change hearts because we believe he is sovereign and can do it.
MISSIONS
We believe we are given the mission to bring the gospel to all people. We are to make disciples, baptize them, and teach them to follow Jesus. We do this in partnership with other churches as we pray, give, and go.
